Hello! My name is Eddy and I’m a graphic recorder based in Glasgow, Scotland. I hang out in meetings and conferences and listen to conversations as they unfold, capturing them through large-scale visuals.

I work with organisations of all sizes - from community groups to massive charities and universities - and I founded a social enterprise called Eddy Draws CIC. We’re all about making events more engaging, memorable and accessible through live graphic recording. I also work with an organisation called New Possibilities in England. 

I’ve been using Neuland for a bit over three years, and there is so much I love. Probably one of the most important things for me is that all markers are refillable and re-nib-able, which means you don’t need to throw them away or replace them. This added level of sustainability aligns with the social mission of my organisation, and also takes away so much admin and cost. And I enjoy the routine of checking and filling my markers before a big day of graphic-ing. 

The range of colours and their vibrancy, and how they can be layered on top of one another, is another thing that really stands out about this kit, as well as the different shapes and sizes of markers. I was already deeply invested in Neuland as a brand – I was already sharing the virtues of the products to anyone who’d listen - so I was absolutely delighted to be asked to be a Neuland Ambassador.

In terms of markers, one of my favourites right now is the BigOne Art Brush Nib, which I initially used when I wanted to do some fancy lettering – and I still use them for that – but over time I’ve realised how versatile they are. The shape of the brush nib means you can move between thick and thin lines and make organic-feeling marks without needing to swap between pens as often. When every second counts in a live job, this is a bit of a game-changer. 

I’m also really into the FatOne just now. I love how you can cover a massive area quickly with the 30mm or 50mm versions, and use the 30mm in 500 (Brilliant Yellow) in pretty much every gig at the moment. It’s such a nifty way to go over headings to make them pop out from the page.

My last recommendation is my LW-X GraphicWall, which comes with me whenever I need a big, sturdy surface to work on – particularly at conferences. It’s super easy to construct, adjust and pack down, and it’s really smooth and stable which means I can just focus on the listening and drawing.
